FAQ

Where is your tallow sourced?
We are committed to sourcing only the highest quality tallow for our skincare products. We hand-render our tallow from organic, grass-fed/finished, pasture-raised cattle from local Minnesota farms.
Each batch is carefully rendered in small batches. We always render at a very low heat to preserve the nutrients and ensure the most effective product possible.

Why is the texture/consistency of my tallow different than my last jar?
As this is an all natural product with no preservatives added, the texture and consistency may vary. Also, as tallow is fat based, it will be harder in cooler temps and softer in warmer temps. If hardened, warm in your fingers briefly before applying. Product will have the same amazing benefits regardless of its consistency!
-
What is the shelf life of whipped tallow?
The shelf life of our products is approximately 6 months, but could last up to 1 year or longer if kept in the refrigerator.
-
Are your products suitable for all ages?
Tallow is amazing for all ages! If using for children under 2, we recommend only using our Unscented or Calendula/Chamomile infused balms, as they do not contain essential oils. For babies, it works great for diaper rash, dry patches, cradle cap, baby acne, and more.

What is tallow?
Tallow is rendered beef suet (fat). It has been used for centuries as a natural and extremely effective way to care for your skin. It is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K and very closely mimics our skin’s natural oils, making it effective at boosting skin repair and providing deep nourishment. Tallow has anti-inflammatory properties to calm irritation, yet is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin.
